Start your day with most important task first

Table of contents

I normally start my day with simple, quick tasks to keep the momentum going. However, just recently I noticed that these quick tasks can easily grow in complexity and become much more involved than I originally anticipated. There were days when I found myself not having the time and energy to finish the critical tasks I set out to do.

So every day, I start with going through my emails, quickly answer them if possible or move them into my to-do bucket. After that, I turn on my favorite music list and start working on the most important task that I want to finish that day. If I get a phone call, or a help request from a team mate, I will tell them that I'm currently occupied and give them an exact time when I will get back to them.
